Hi Friends,

It’s weekend but I have lots of pending work to do and i am confused, which one to do first. So during such situations, i often leave all the pending work and engage myself in some fun activity and one of the fun activity is crafts.

I tried this cool craft and wow.. what a cool result. This craft is so easy and so fast. Good for doing it with your kids. My son and me had planned to do this together, but he is taking rest and i thought of surprising him. So here is what I made in 5 minutes.

You will need:

Crayons ( I have lots and lots as my elder one loves to color)
Sand paper
Iron
Tshirt where you want to place your design (I used Neo’s T)

Process:
Draw the design on the sandpaper with crayons. The image drawn should be a mirror image as you will be transferring it onto the fabric. Once your design is ready, place the design (sandpaper) on the fabric, place newpaper in between so that the design is not transferred to the other side of the tshirt. And with the help of iron, press the design over the fabric and after 1 minute, your will see that the design is fully transferred.

I have not yet washed the shirt, but i plan to wash it separately by hand and see if the color bleeds. Anyway this is a cool craft for kids. So enjoy your weekend. Do some cool crafts. If you make this crayon craft, do send us pictures so that we can display them here.

Here is the photo of the actual design on the sandpaper. This photo was taken after the design was transferred onto the t’shirt so it is looking faded.

BTW I love the result. I am sure it will look cool on NEO (my little one).

*Update : Neo does look cool. See the pic.

If you can either write articles or have the promotion and marketing knowledge to publicize articles that others write, becoming an affiliate for several companies may be a great way for you to generate a good income right from your own home. You can do this by receiving part of the revenue off of sales that the company gets from people who “click through” from your website via the company’s links that are placed on your pages.

Since you will be promoting a product or service, you will need a killer sales pitch and website content to get your readers interested in the product, convince them that they cannot live without the product, and to keep them coming back to your website time and time again for more recommendations and your useful content, which will get them clicking on your links once again. Although many affiliate companies only give you money off of the first sale you make from each customer, you have the option of promoting a good range of companies so that you can still make a profit off of your returning customers.

If you cannot write this kind of content of your own, there are many ways to pick up free or paid content to place on your affiliate website. There are many reasons why paying for such articles would be to your advantage. First, you will be able to tell the writer exactly what you want, what product you are trying to sell, and what direction they can go in to keep your readers interested and informed. On the other hand, when you search for free content, you are limited to what is already out there. Secondly, you will own the copyright to this content. That means that no one else can reuse it without your consent. If you opt for free content, you will be sharing that content with an unknown amount of other affiliate websites, plus the original author will be able to place their byline at the bottom of the article which could result in them stealing your traffic.

There are many products that have nice affiliate commission rates for those who know how to pre-sale their product and deliver click through customers who are ready to buy. As long as you choose to promote a product or service that can be very useful to a wide variety of people, then pre-selling your chosen company may not be that hard at all. The key in this situation may likely be getting those customers to your website so that they have a chance to see your recommendations and click on your affiliate links.

Everyone has to work but let’s face it, not everyone is suited to an eight-to-five office existence. In recent years, technologies such as computers, mobile phones, and the Internet have allowed more and more work to be done at home and practically anywhere. With the rise of the creative class, it’s easy to do knowledge work and data-intensive jobs such as marketing, customer relations, software development, design, writing, data processing, transcription, etc. at home.

A home-based career has become an attractive option for many, especially those with young children in need of full-time supervision. There are plenty of advantages, according to Homeworking.com. For one, you enjoy a flexible working schedule.

Not only do you get to pick when to begin and end your workday, you can even also choose how many hours to devote to your task each day. And it can leave you with more than enough time to devote to your family and loved ones. Working from home also cuts expenses down on such costs as transportation, lunch-outs, and office clothes.

Beyond time and cost savings, a home-based career offers freedom and independence. Many home-based jobs are on a per-project or consultancy basis. Others become self-run small- to medium-scale businesses. Because you are your own boss, you can manage your time to dive into a variety of work that interest you. In fact, you can potentially earn more as an independent contractor or self-employed business owner. For many, working from home improved their quality of life.

But before you trade in your daily commutes, Bundy clock-punching, and that little desk or cubicle in a crowded office for your own little executive nook at home, there are important things to consider:

Suitability of work. Some people jump into a home-based career without careful planning and end up realizing they miss working in a corporate setting or there are just not enough opportunities available. Assess the feasibility of a work-from-home setup for you. Take stock of your own work preferences and skills and the kind of opportunities available to freelancers or home-based entrepreneurs.

Home-based scams. Don’t be lured with promises of instant income just by stuffing envelopes or clicking online ads at home. Conduct a thorough background check of the individuals or firms you will be working with. Make sure they are reputable with a sound track record of paying compensation. Don’t fall victim to scam artists out to score some free labor.

Fixed, steady income. One of the greatest perils of a home-based career is the uncertainty of the next paycheck. Unlike full-time employees, the stream of outsourced tasks can sometimes be irregular and intermittent. This results in a seasonal flow of income that may find you in a bind against the regular string of bills and expenses. The best way to counter this is to find work that pays you a fixed monthly retainer that at least covers your overhead. And build long-term relationships with clients that can provide you with regular business.

Segregation of work and personal time. You may fall into one of two traps: working too much that your family time suffers (yes, it’s possible you’ll be working more, not less, at home) or your work suffers because your family demands more of your time. The antidote: set fixed hours for work and let everyone at home respect that, including you.

Procrastination. Without a rigid workday to adhere to, and in the absence of a superior to answer to, home-based jobs can fall victim to the habit of putting things off for tomorrow. With household distractions like chores, bills, child-rearing, and the like, your assignments could be shelved indefinitely until there is no more time to complete them, thereby letting slip the opportunity to earn. To avoid this, set up a system just like with any office-based worker: set deadlines, track your progress, and offer yourself a reward like an out-of-town trip (or impose a penalty, say, no TV for a week). Remember that with some basic research, honest soul-searching, common sense, proper planning, and time management, the choice to work from home can be a personally fulfilling and financially rewarding alternative.
